Sunnyvale, Texas, is a small town located in Dallas County. It was originally settled in the 1840s and was known as Long Creek.
The merging of the four rural hamlets—Long Creek, New Hope, Hattersville, and Tripp—played a significant role in the formation of Sunnyvale. These settlements, dating back to the mid-19th century, contributed to the early development and sense of community in the area. The establishment of stores, schools, and other infrastructure highlights the gradual evolution of these hamlets into a cohesive town. This rich history underscores the deep roots and heritage of Sunnyvale, Texas

The town experienced slow growth until the 1950s when suburban development began to take off in the Dallas area. In 1953, the town officially incorporated as Sunnyvale. Since then, it has grown steadily, attracting residents looking for a quieter, more suburban lifestyle while still being close to Dallas. Today, Sunnyvale is known for its rural charm, excellent schools, and proximity to major urban centers.                                        Local Resident Embraces Community Engagement
